The 2619 is an Artist series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1976. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
The 2619 features A carved maple top with cream multi-binding on a double-cutaway mahogany body mated to a set-in laminated maple neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with binding and abalone and pearl split block position markers. Components include a pair of Super 70 humbucking pickups mounted in cream pickup rings with individual volume and tone controls and a phase toggle, a Tune-O-Matic style bridge and stop tailpiece, speed knobs with pointers and Smooth Tuner machine heads.
Extensive changes were introduced for 1977 including the new Gibraltar bridge with sustain block embedded in the body and the slotted Gibraltar tailpiece with scalloped “cloud” ornament, new Super 80 “Flying Finger” pickups each with a Tri-sound switch for coil splitting, a bone and brass nut, and VelveTune machine heads. For 1978 the knobs were replaced with Sure Grip knobs with rubber grip insert.
