Hyungs
Hyungs or forms are as important to a martial art and the kicks and punches themselves. Every student will learn a hyung for each belt they earn. The hyungs showcase both the students mental ability to memorize the pattern of moves as well as their physical ability to perfect the moves and stances. Along with each hyung there is also a definition that the students must learn that teach them a little about the hyungs history.
In total there are 24 hyungs to represent the 24 hours of the day. By the time a student reaches their black belt they will only have learned eleven of them.
Please hover over the hyungs navigation button in the main menu to see all of the resources available to you on this site in terms of the hyungs definitions and even many of the hyungs typed out.
